Eye-catching night shining clouds - 21.7.2021 at 00.05 - 21.7.2021 at 03.15 Sysmä Observation number 99779

Visibility V / V

Arja-Sisko Airila, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

Johan had impressive looking night clouds filling almost the entire sky. Immediately after midnight, a fishbone-like night cloud pattern was visible throughout the southern sky. Long belts were visible from north to south in the middle sky. After one o'clock the night clouds began to fade from the southern sky, but brightened throughout the northern sky. Long belts, herringbone pattern, swirls, gauze and strange patterns. I followed the night cloud display well into the morning. After three o'clock in the morning, as the morning began to dawn, the southern sky was again full of night clouds, long belts across, and a herringbone pattern. Then clouds began to rise into the western sky, covering the Nightingales. The sky was clear, night calm, temperatures +13.

  • Havainto
    • Night shining clouds
  • Cloud coverage in the sky
    • Covered 7/8 of the sky
  • Noctilucent clouds
    • Unusual forms info

Relatively rarely, there are special shapes in the night shining cloud displays that do not belong to the shapes listed above. Such may be, for example, thick lumpy formations that appear as some kind of patches. They may also be associated with an unusual color tone.

    • Swirl info

Swirls are curved night shining cloud forms. For example, a single night cloud belt or group of waves may be curved on a clear bend.

Waves of noctilucent clouds are short, close groups of clouds.

Itsekin näin taivaalla koko komeuden, mutta epäilin näkemääni yöpilviksi..

Todella kaunista keskikesän taivasta!!
