Moon - 28.2.2021 at 21.00 Espoo Observation number 96420

Visibility III / V

Tommi Ropponen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

A quick test with camera optics when the moon was suitably in the evening. The moon was not yet very high and the direction of photography also went directly over the roofs of the surrounding houses at a rather gentle angle. This was seen as a kind of "boil" when shooting (and in an animation made afterwards), but it doesn't really bring this drawback when you don't try to get the details to shoot at a much longer focal length. There was even a thin cloud in the sky, so this does not yet represent the best possible image quality for this stock (although it is not far away).

Technical information

Sony A7iii / Sony SEL200600G / Sony SELTC20 (2x TV extension). The focal length is therefore 1200 mm. The camera with its optics was on a Leofoto LS-364C fiber mount with a manual Alt-az head (Scopetech Mount Zero) on top. Described 1055 squares, 10% of which are stacked. Processed from raw images to final output with a combination of LightRoom, Pipp, Autostakkert and ImPPG.
