Epsilon Aurigae (ε Aur / ε Aurigae) is the star in the Constellation of the Driver. It is traditionally called Haldus and Almaaz . The star is about 2,000 light-years from Earth. It is a binary star and a long-term blackout variable. The more visible component of the double star is the yellow-white supernatant of the spectral class F0IAB-III. The second component is a bluish B5V star surrounded by a large dust ring. It may be a close binary star.
