Promontorium Archerusia - 8.9.2020 at 02.00 - 8.9.2020 at 02.40 Harjavalta Observation number 93495

Visibility IV / V

Jari Kuula, Porin Karhunvartijat

The company draws Prom. Archerus in evening light. The destination is the easternmost point of the Montes Haemus mountains. It was named after Hevelius by the peninsula Acherus near the ancient Heracleia (now Karadeniz Eregli). Hevelius’s typo has survived on maps to this day.

For Brian Eno fans, the point is that Prom. Archerusia is on the cover of Eno's 1983 studio album Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks.
