Visibility II / V
The Fell-Lapland Nature Center near Skierri, on the ice of Lake Ounasjärvi, is a good place for skies. To the south, there is no wasted light, and the village road lights are mostly left behind the forest strip. Shooting to the north is more difficult, but the northern lights were nicely visible both visually and in the picture. It was -35 C from the frost, and the defrosting of the fingers afterwards was downright painful. I started coming up with a camera handling tool that could use the buttons and dials of the camera to use gloves on. A dim red LED light on the same instrument would make it unnecessary to control the headlight (which is often overlooked).
