Visibility IV / V
Luckily, the weatherman was wrong with his prediction, promised to be cloudy but was quite clear up to the horizon.
With Peakfinder, I saw that the Moon would rise darkened in 1610 behind Puijo Hill, right next to Puijo Tower. This is how it happened, the brighter lower edge of the Moon began to appear, I remember, at 1616 above the forest. The sun had set aside for a few minutes to less than four, so the sky was still reasonably clear, so the darkened Hemisphere of the Moon did not begin to stand out from the background sky until after 1630.
A dozen people had gathered in the Neulamäki observation tower to watch and photograph the eclipse, probably attracted to the scene of Savon Sanomat's story.
