We ended up with a few other people from Lappeenranta to photograph and admire the partial lunar eclipse on the Luukkaansalmi bridge, from where there was a great view to the northeast, from where the darkened moon rose. There was a bit of a cloud of cloud on the horizon, so there was no visible moon rise, but when it was already above the horizon, a beautiful reddish sickle was nicely visible.
