Visibility Unclassified
I was well prepared to observe the lunar eclipse and drove to Niemennokka so that I was there a little before the start of the half-shadow phase. Even between one and two o'clock, the full moon had shone from an almost clear sky, and although now the Cloudiness had become more abundant, I decided to persevere.
In the half-shadow phase, the Moon was visible from the clouds several times, but continuously it was on display for such vanishingly short periods that a small darkening could not be detected. Towards the end of the partial phase, I was able to separate the Moon once, albeit only so that part was visible for the full shadow. There were small openings in the cloud cover, from which the bright stars stood out from time to time, but in the western direction, the Cloudiness quickly became impenetrable.
The perfection phase of the eclipse then went under virtually complete cloud cover. In the final stages, I decided to drive home and still tried to rest a bit before going to work. There were no signs of a partially darkened Moon, and the morning then brightened under an almost flat gray sky.
