I watched the eclipse as the day blurred just from home without any special equipment. I photographed what light looks like during an eclipse. However, with my cell phone camera in my hand, I reached for a few pictures straight from the sun.

As I moved the images, I noticed a strange sickle-like reflection from the darkened sun. Apparently either caused by double glazing or camera lens reflection, as my son guessed.

Attached are pictures of state space 12:17 and 12:35 and reflections cropped.

The pictures themselves are by no means wonderful, but that eclipse was documented by chance :)
