Visibility III / V
I set out to photograph Lovejoy and the mosaic test, but both were left halfway. So originally normal for this season. Unusual, on the other hand, is that the plans were not missed because of the clouds, Ehei, this time the session mixer was a much more positive surprise: the northern lights.
By many coincidences, I ended up somewhere near Hämeenkoski on the edge of a field. The view of the horizon was not quite unobstructed, but the differences in altitude and trees of the surroundings provided quite good wind protection, allowing pleasant work without total freezing.
After getting out of the car, there was a rush to tune the cameras as the performance seemed to be at its best. One of the cameras ended up on the roof of the car blinking a timelapse in the photographer’s own focus to test the recording of real-time northern lights video on the A7s.
The processing of the video will probably take its own time, but I quickly got tired of the timelapse material with some kind of gif animation that is involved in this observation as well. Larger html5 version at:
