On the engineering exercises page, I experimented with how a M82 supernova would appear with a medium-sized lens tube through a 7nm H-alpha filter.

TS PHOTOLINE Triplet APO 102 / 700mm f6.85 @ Skywatcher EQ-6 Pro SynScan + Poseidon POEQ6-USB. Starlight Xpress Trius SX-694 (setpoint -40C). Baader 1.25 "H-alpha 7nm @ SX Mini FW 5x1.25". SXMFW OAG + SX Lodestar autoguider. Focusing Optec TCF-S. Integration time a total of 40 min. (H-alpha 8 * 5min 1x1bin). Description and pulseguiding MaxIm DL Pro + EQMOD. Image processing PixInsight (Calibration: 51 * bias, no dark, 31 * flat). Image scale 1.31 arcsecs / pixel (original FoV 48 x 60 arcmin).
