Visibility IV / V
I prepared for the night of clear observation by taking a balance day off from work. Two tubes made observations, one scientific observation of the exoplanet HAT-P-22b and the other imaged different galaxies. A nice surprise when the phone rang an alarm about possible aurora borealis. A glance at the northern sky and there was already a glow going on. I quickly got a tripod for my phone and ran to the ice of Luulionlahti in Alasjärvi. I lay on the ice and took pictures of very colorful aurora borealis with my phone, I distinguished the colors of green red, white and purple. As I left the ice to look through my binoculars, the aurora borealis began to spread across the sky, eventually being directly overhead. Lots of observations from exoplanets to aurora borealis for the evening. It was difficult to choose which pictures to put here, when there were so many pictures. Here are a few at random.
