A positive observation of the recurrent nova M31N 2008-12a in the galaxy M31.

The limit magnitude in figure 1 is 19.1. Nova appears very faint at the marker.

Huikean hieno havainto! Ja taitaa olla ihka ensimmäinen kuva kuva tästä purkauksesta. Harmi että löytö taisi mennä niukasti Las Cumbres Observatorion nimiin nopeamman raportoinnin ansiosta. Suuret ammattiobservatoriot seuraavat nyt tiiviisti tätä purkausta. Nova on näkyvissä vain muutaman päivän ajan.
Kiitos Arto ! Nova on kuvassa vielä niin himmeä etten saanut siitä ASTAPilla suoraan mitattua kirkkautta, läheiselle aavistuksen kirkkaammalle sain mag 19.5 ja siitä "interpoloimalla" novalle hetkellä 2022-12-02 18.38 UT tuli mag 19.6. Mitä ilmeisimmin tuo hetki oli juuri se kun nova alkoi kunnolla purkautumaan ja kirkastumaan. Turhan varovainen tosiaan olin tämän havainnon nopeassa raportoinnissa :-)
