The picture was taken on 13.07 and even then there were clouds in front of the sun, but so thin that it mostly gave a nice effect to the picture. At the time of maximum, the sun could just barely show some kind of fading, but the clouds were already so thick that you couldn't get a picture. Two sunspots can be seen comfortably.
