Sun - 19.5.2022 at 15.04 - 19.5.2022 at 15.52 Espoo Observation number 106894

Visibility IV / V

Tommi Ropponen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

I wish these could be titled even with the model "Life of the Sun for 48 Minutes". So the material is a few videos showing what is happening in the chromosphere of the Sun at the wavelength of hydrogen alpha. A few smaller and one slightly larger eruption grabbed the cell during that 48 minutes.

The four videos are all from the same material, but with slightly different treatments or coloring - some see things better than others. And finish with a bunch of still images from the biggest eruption phase.

Full-size videos and pictures can be found on AstroBin (links below). The animations are fair in size, so they will load for a while. More detailed description details can also be found behind the links.
