Visibility III / V

Tommi Ropponen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

A quick description of the Sunday morning carriage. The weather was raw, cold and probably close to zero with the wind chill. Even the wind tore the equipment so that I was afraid the pipe would fall on the asphalt yard - next time I'll watch that little wind before I carry the stuff in the yard. The images and animations turned out to be quite good, although the sky wasn't entirely clear (this was mainly due to the fact that the shutter speed had to be increased by about 1 ms compared to the "proper" weather) and the wind waved the tube so that the subjects didn't move out of the field. The animations depict the "life" of the sun over a period of 19 minutes.

Full-size images and animations can be seen in AstroBin (the Skywarden reduces them somewhat). With AstroBin, animations are also more visible, so it's worth taking a look at them from there too:

Technical information

Comma area images: 9705 squares, of which the best 400 are stacked. Prototyping: 8153 squares, of which the best 400 are stacked. In both cases, I recovered the data for 1 minute. In the animations, the recording took about 20 seconds (more than 3,000 frames were recovered) and then a break of 40 seconds - this loop 19 times in a row.

Equipment and more detailed shooting details can be found in AstroBin (link above).
