On January 24, 2022 at 21:00 Finnish time, JWST parked the L2 points slowly. The motion of the JWST is shown in the animation below (24x60s = 24 minutes) and in the center of the stacked image (15x60s). During the 15-minute exposures, the JWST moved for 20 arcseconds. Even a few clouds and snowflakes went over the field of view during the exposures, dimming the image. It is already dim, the brightness of the JWST measured from the image is mag 17.34.

2 päivää aikaisemmin, kun JWSTllä oli matkaa määränpäähän vielä 39 000 km, mittailin sen kirkkaudeksi mag 16.25.
Eli melkein yli magnitudin olisi kirkkaus tippunut.
Vaikuttaisikohan myös nyt erilainen asento maahan nähden kirkkauden tippuseen niinkin paljon ?
Huomasin Tapio aiemman kirkkaushavaintosi, ja sen mukaan oletin että JWST olisi aika helposti näkynyt CCD:n "online" kuvissa ennen varsinaisia valotuksia, mutta sitähän sai ihan tosissaan tihrustaa että tunnisti sen olevan kuvakentän keskellä. ASTAPilla tuon saman kirkkauden toistuvasti mittasin ja tein pienen pinonkin joka antoi jokseenkin saman tuloksen. Filtterini on kylläkin Clear eikä virallinen JohnsonV. Voi tosiaan olla se tenniskentän kokoisen heijastuskalvon asento on maahan nähden muuttunut.
