Geostationääriset satelliitit - 13.10.2021 at 09.00 - 13.10.2021 at 17.00 Hankasalmi, Murtoinen Observation number 101787

Visibility III / V

Arto Oksanen, Jyväskylän Sirius

Again, it’s the time of year when the Sun travels behind the orbit of geostationary satellites (or actually the satellites orbit the Sun). Each satellite transmitting at 10-11 GHz appears in the Hankasalmi radio telescope's solar observation as a pulse lasting about 5 minutes. Today, about 30 satellites were drawn into the picture. The larger pits are the trees in front of the Sun. The blue and purple lines are temperature measurements.
