7267 The asteroid Mars-Crossing in Victormeen (1943 DF, 1990 FD) was photographed on the first night of the September 2021 work. Finland 100 is the target of our project 201. The asteroid was discovered by Liisi Oterma on February 23, 1943 in Iso-Heikkilä, Turku. The asteroid is named after Victorian geologist Victor Ben Meen (1910-1971). Victor Ben Meen was the first to identify the Pingualuit crater in northern Quebec as a meteor-induced impact structure in 1950. This opened up a whole new direction for exploring the craters struck, for example: Source
RESEARCH ARTICLE NOVEMBER 15, 2011 V. The Mystery of Ben Meen and Chubb Crater Howard Plotkin; Kimberly Tait, "The History of the Earth Sciences Society" (2011) 30 (2): 240-266. https://meridian.allenpress.com/esh/article/30/2/240/67830/V-Ben-Meen-and-the-Riddle-of-Chubb-Crater . The size of the asteroid is 4.36km and the rotation speed is 3.0420h / r. As described, the asteroid was 1,673au at a distance and closest on October 29, 2021 to 1,286au. This is then the last target of our Finland 100 project, the project description and reporting to Taivaanvahti took about 4 and a half years :).
