The night seemed to be clear so nothing more than a bike and the preheating had time to be done in the field while wintering before evening.
After midnight, the northern lights seemed to appear a bit, although they remained dim and the low-lying night clouds beneath them, but even better seen and felt and photographed.
After two in the morning, more illuminating night clouds slowly began to push in and closer to three in the morning, it was clear that I could not get home to cycle yet, and when I photographed them, the morning was always beyond four. If the whole sky is taken into account and the cross in the middle then in a way 1/4, ie Otava is touched. From the northeast they slowly pushed.
At six in the morning I had time to sleep and the pictures naturally quickly ripped through without further consideration of the end result in relation to what it naturally looked like, i.e. with artistic freedoms. It was windy and I missed my hat. So and once again, yes, these images, even if they don't understand what they are, and it remains to be seen whether they will still appear around the weekend when they promise clear and calm, at least not yet.

Hienoa, hyvä pohjoinen! Hyvän yökkärikesän jämillä tehty uusi ennätys päivämäärissä - ja kuvatkin kuin normaaliajan keskikertaisesta näytelmästä kauniissa yötunnelmassa. AIM-satelliitin kuvissa on ollut jokunen päivä vain pikkuriekaleita, ja kunhan päästään näkemään niistä tämä yö, osataan satelliitin havintoja skaalata taas hitusen paremmin visuaalihavaintoihin. Kiitos taas pohjoiseen!
Löytyykö linkkiä näihin satelliittikuviin? Arpalahti toisaalla puhuu myös satelliittien kuvista "jotka julkaistaan 27.- 29.8", joten tämä on kaiketi jokin toinen satelliitti? Onko tähänkin antaa linkkiä?
Spaceweather.com -sivulta olen katsellut satelliitin kuivia. Ne tulee muutaman päivän viiveellää.
Thanks. Kesti vähän aikaa löytää sieltä kaiken hälinän seasta vasemmasta paneelista. Vielä ei näköjään ole tullut päivitystä.
Nyt näkyi 24.8. kuva. Melko pientä riekaleita ja pääosin 80N yläpuolella.
Satelliitti ei näyttäisi tukevan 24.8.-havaintoa, mutta se on rajoittunut havaintoväline, kun se ottaa kapean näyteviipaleen reilun puolentoista tunnin kierroksella n. 550 km:n korkeudesta. Jos kierrokset synkronoituvat huonosti, niin yöpilvet ovat voineet kadota tai ne ovat näkökentän katveessa. AIMin sijainti näyttäisi löytyvän täältä: www.n2yo.com/satellite/?s=31304
