The Swedish Space Corporation's probe rocket BROR was finally able to set off from Kiiruna, I was filming a light show at Oulu's Pyykösjärvi. The rocket rose to 100 kilometers, spreading colorful barium clouds for research purposes. Surprised at how fast the rocket rose (the first cloud appeared less than a minute after launch), I excitedly clicked the pictures. The plane going north conveniently hit a couple of pictures, but as a much nicer surprise, the northern lights themselves decided to take part in the show. Unbelievable luck, this was the last chance to launch the rocket and th...

The second image of the season was the emission nebula IC 1318 next to Gamma Cygni (Sadr), which looks like a butterfly from a distance. However, it should not be confused with Scorpio NGC 6302. Next to the nebula at 11 o'clock is the open star cluster NGC 6910, whose magnitude is dwarfed by all the Great Rift matter in its path. More information: https://www.astrobin.com/9h2qyu/

It was nice to describe a long time ago, when the previous season went with bad weather and technical difficulties. The lens tube was repaired in Taiwan, now it seemed to produce better stars. So for three hours, I photographed the Witch's Broom Nebula part of the Joutsenen Harso nebula, which is an ancient remnant of the expanding blast wave of a supernova. Viime kauden HaLRGB-opettelu saa nyt jatkoa. Kuvan luminanssi ja punainen kanava on ehostettu kapeakaistaisella vetyalfa-datalla. Vähän tekisi mieli hypätä kokonaan kapeakaistakuvaukseen mutta siinähän on väärät värit ;) Lisätietoja: https://www.astrobin.com/hd87i5/

After mostly repairing last season’s equipment breaks, it was nice to get back to the deep sky. Had to go back to manual focusing but it’s really easy (at least even when it’s not cold). I photographed Sickle Mist NGC 6888 to begin the season. After processing, I noticed a wonderfully colored star in the middle of the fog. It is the Wolf-Rayet star WR-136 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WR_136) which is 600 thousand times brighter than the sun, a star at the end of its life with a special spectrum. https://www.astrobin.com/28uukf/

Two good evenings were spent filming the heart area of the Heart Nebula. The first night I took a mere hydrogen narrowband and the second night I photographed luminance and colors. A total of 10.7 hours of usable images. Melotte 15 is an open constellation in the middle of Perseus Heart Nebula. The radiation of its young and bright supergiants illuminates the surrounding fog. The stars are about 1.5 million years old and some are about 50 times the size of the Sun. Learn more: https://www.astrobin.com/ot7y1l/?nc=user

The Ghost lurking in Gamma Cassiopeia is about 600 light-years away. Just 3-4 light-years away, the 19-fold mass of the Sun heats the hydrogen mist IC 63 to the familiar red glow. The dimmer and farther IC 59 is more reminiscent of blue reflective fog. I photographed the subject on two calm, moonless nights and the light accumulated for a total of 8.3 hours. The season has started in Oulu! A new alley is the integration of narrowband data with LRGB description. This first image shows the Sharpless list sh2-188, the planetary nebula in Cassiopeia. The technology is hydrogen alpha filter data combined with luminance and the red channel of the RGB image in PixInsight. The Sharpless list will probably be described even more through this. Reasonably unknown for this galaxy in Hounds. I used three evenings for this and just over 10 hours of collected light, I think it was worth it. I came across someone over a 10 hour project through this. More information: https://www.astrobin.com/g5y0q8/

After a long wait, the clouds dissipated at half past two in the morning and I finally found the Atlas of the Big Bear. I already shot the comet, which is already reasonably bright, for three hours in five-minute clips, culminating in the attached video.

The spiral galaxy NGC 4236 (Caldwell 3) is found in the constellation of the Dragon as part of the M81 set. It is about 22x7 arc minutes in size and about 10 in magnitude.

I filmed a trip from the Windmill Galaxy two nights. 63 5-minute lights on the first night were not enough, but the total of 103 after the second night produced such a picture. The second image shows how the galaxy itself has 8 NGC-listed nebulae and next to it on the right are 2 NGC-listed galaxies. 7 PGC galaxies appear dimmer. "M101 has a rather large galaxy compared to the Milky Way , it is about 170 000 light-years thus about 2 times the Milky Way-sized in diameter and Instead M101:.. The exact mass is not known, according to some estimates, it is about 16 billion times the sun . Mass Thi...

Galaxy spring continues with this M106 & guys image. The second largest galaxy in the picture is NGC 4217, a spiral galaxy on its side that is a potential partner for M106. "Messier 106 (also known as NGC 4258) is a spiral galaxy about 24 million light-years from Earth. It is located in the Dachshund constellation. "

The last picture of the week is the Cat's Eye Galaxy in Hounds. "Messier 94 (or NGC 4736) is a rod spiral galaxy about 16 million light-years from Earth. It is located in the constellation of Hounds. M94 has a liner-type core (liner = Low-ionization nuclear emission-line region). From the spectrum of the nucleus, it can be concluded that there is a weakly ionized gas. The M94 also has two tires, inner and outer. The inner is about 70 ″ in diameter, and the outer is about 600 ″. There is a strong formation of stars in the inner ring. "

The second picture of the week and perhaps the most successful is Valasgala and Lätkägala in Hounds. I used 10-minute exposures, which caused inconvenience with the fixed pattern noise due to the small number of images. More information: https://www.astrobin.com/ae3b4l/

The first good week of the season started to pay off in the form of Owl Nebula. I tried to bring out the outer shell of the mist but the 15 minute luminances weren’t enough either. Learn more: https://www.astrobin.com/pogxz9/?nc=user
