By the way, I just went to look at the scenery so I noticed this phenomenon in the direction of the sunset. I was wondering if this is the same type of cloud as the illuminating night clouds in the summer? There was this cloud in a small area but it was really clear.

2.9. was a rainy day in Southern Ostrobothnia. To the west was a clear area in the sky from which the sun emerged shortly before sunset and caused a bright fully visible rainbow. The sunset itself was also magically full of color.

Fortunately, on vacation you can manage to sleep a little later. I went on a small nocturnal provincial tour to look for a light-free spot on top of the last one because I heard that northern lights were in the offing. One was found in Soini, Southern Ostrobothnia. The first observation of the northern lights is from Ylihärmä at about 0.23. (Fig. 2) There was a clearly visible calm arc of northern lights in the sky, which remained almost unchanged in the sky for several hours. The second observation is from Soini shortly before three o'clock, when the northern lights had a more active peri...

At the height of the Seinäjoki, the northern sky is still quite bright in the middle of the night. After midnight, white streaks began to appear in the sky, so I thought that illuminating night clouds might be visible at the darkest time. I packed the stuff in the car and set aside. At one time at night, the clouds were already quite clear. As the sky still darkened, they became clearer. The fog rising from the field crowned the splendor.

The Northern Lights season came to my part in Kilpisjärvi. After midnight I looked out and there were bright northern lights in the sky. I'm not describing. At the beginning, the northern lights were very bright and the active ribbon made meanders all over the sky. After a while, however, the lights dimmed somewhat but at times bright bands and rays visited the sky. However, the northern lights belt to the south remained relatively calm. Sometimes I have time to shoot for the Norwegian side as well.

The sky is still quite clear at night but the night clouds were clearly visible between 1.00 and 2.00. The fog was also comfortable and at times it covered part of the sky and night clouds.

A dim strip of northern lights was visible on the horizon and Buck decided to go on a trip with the camera. At times, the northern lights shone as brighter rays and at times calmed down into a dimmer strip. With this picture, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

The forecast showed rising geomagnetic activity, so the camera backpacked in and out. When I arrived at the light-polluting place in the northern sky, a clear calm belt of northern lights was visible, which at times became active. These active episodes didn’t last long so after an hour of filming, the warm home couch started calling. Picture of the most active stage of northern lights.

The peak of the Perseid meteor flock passed past in cloudy weather, but even at 14.8 a few meteors were visible, leaving a red smokescreen.
