At first, the Kelvin-Helmholtz wave cloud was weakly visible here and there among the messy Altocumulus, mainly in the western direction, but from 17:50 to 18:00 a very clear wave appeared in the east with a good contrast against the light background.

Lenticular stacks at sunset. Second time now in a short time, but these were more spectacular. There was a couple of small undulations in the upper surface of the cloud, but no clear fluctus.

The thin pale gauze was visible moderately wide in the southwestern sky. Too pale to be Cirrostratus, so I interpreted it as a nacreous cloud. Farther on the horizon, the gauze was thicker and orange. The thicker cloud visible on the horizon remained visible longer.

Lenticular stacks in Stratocumulus to the south. According to my calculations, there were at least five floors.

From the window of the train, I saw the clouds of color as I watched how the upper surfaces of Cirrocumulus lenticularis started to wave like a fluctus. However, the train moved forward at such a good pace that the clouds did not stay in front of the sun for long and the color cloud quickly weakened. Shortly after this, the train turned north and the waves, which were still getting stronger, fell outside the view allowed by the window. The pictures are a bit blurry because of the aforementioned window and there are some reflections. In the first image, I have adjusted the color balance and sat...

I went through old pictures and noticed that I hadn't made an observation report about these Kelvin-Helmholtz wave clouds. At that time, I was photographing the handsome Cirrocumulus formations that took over the sky, when the Altocumulus that was below them started to raise waves. Altocumulus stratiformis fluctus.

Spectacular Kelvin-Helmholtz ripples in the middle cloud on Monday evening. Waves were generated several times in about an hour at the same height.

The upper surface of Altocumulus lenticularis undulated handsomely. A clear fluctus, in other words a Kelvin-Helmholz wave cloud. Was over in a few minutes.

While boating on Lake Kitka, I suddenly noticed a very bright point of light in the sky going north. At first I thought it was a satellite, but then I noticed a small gas cloud surrounding it, illuminated by the sun. It took a while to dig out the camera, and at that point the target had already disappeared to the north. I firmly believe that it was the upper stage of the Soyuz 2.1v launch vehicle that left Russia a few minutes earlier.

We drove a car on Pälkänneentie when the strenuous Stratus in the east started to wave a bit. I started to take a few pictures when the Kelvin-Helmholtz wave cloud was at its best.
