Comet C/2020 V2 (ZTF) wandering near the North Star as seen from our own light-polluted backyard. The tube was Meade's 10-inch SCT, visually the comet was just separated from the background. In a dark place, this would probably stand out more clearly. I attached an old mirrorless Canon EOS-M camera to the tube and with that the comet became more clearly visible. The picture shows 10 pieces of 15s exposures, the tripod was I-Optron's AZ Pro alt/az goto tripod, without guidance. No flats, the images were in JPG format, so the possibility of adjusting the final image was very limited. The...

The sky brightened up for a while on Christmas Day evening, and since eating ham was already getting dull, I included star photography in the program. After initial difficulties, I aimed the tube at this small planetary nebula IC 5217 (PNG 100.6-05.4) found in the constellation Sisilisko. The object is only 7 arcseconds in size. The brightness is 11.3 mag, so the surface brightness is still good. Due to its small size, it is very difficult to see any details. However, the more skilled ones in the world have also made the internal structure visible with a planetary camera and short exposures. I...

The rarely imaged planetary nebula Sharpless 1-89 (SH1-89, PNG 089.8-00.6) can be found in the constellation Cygnus quite close to the more imaged North America nebula. The central area of the nebula is about 1 arcminute in size, the dim outer parts extend farther, the nebula as a whole is about 5 arcminutes in diameter. I also call the fog the Moth nebula. The structure of the nebula is bipolar, where the brighter core region is well visible in the 0III band and the outer dim parts are better visible in H-Alpha. An interesting detail is that tail visible in h-alpha. As the first image, the im...

Imatra had surprisingly good weather all day and I was able to photograph the entire eclipse. This time I used a mobile phone as a camera with an eyepiece adapter. The tube was a Herschell Tal100RS wedge iron. The attached photo was taken at 1:13 p.m., a little before the maximum moment. This time too, I noted that the light and colors of the landscape become somehow louder as the eclipse progresses.

Deep Sky Digiscoping. I got Celesteron's smartphone adapter and tried whether it is possible to take deep sky pictures through the eyepiece of the telescope with a modern cell phone. The target was the old familiar Messier 27, i.e. lifting pressure nebula, the Samsung Galaxy S20FE phone as the camera and Celestron's C14 as the telescope. Eyepiece 32mm. Here are 25 15s exposures stacked and processed. The picture has had to be cropped from the original size, because the stars on the edges stretch. The second image is an unprocessed screen from the phone. It is planned to tell more about...

The constellation of the fox has a planetary nebula NGC 6842 with a size of about 1 arc minute and 14 mag. I put together a HOO version of these with red H-alpha and blue and green OIII. This is an planetary with an interesting shape and quite a lot of detail. The richly stretched negative shows a peculiar hazy part between 8 and 9 p.m., the peculiarity is that it seems to stand out more clearly in the OIII channel. The first is the HOO version Second OIII channel 30x600s, third OIII negative, fourth H-alpha channel 24x600s, Fifth H-alpha negative

In the constellation of the dragon, right next to the Swan, there is one of the planetary nebulae on the Abell list, Abell 50. The object is also listed on the NGC list under number 6742. The nebula is a little over 30 arcseconds very noticeable from a dark spot with a 20cm tube and an OIII filter. When photographed, both OIII and H-alpha gave an almost similar result. I collected a HOO version of the picture where H-alpha is placed in red and OIII in blue and green color channels. This small object does not seem to have been photographed very diligently, although it is very noticeable and can...
