I had the honor of starting to observe the transit of a Saturn-like exoplanet from Tervakoski, Finland, on November 13. It was unusually warm at night +9 degrees and there was a strong storm. I looked for a sheltered spot for my telescope at the end of the horse stable. HIP 41378 f is what astronomers call a "super-puff" planet, meaning it's big, but its density is predicted to be very low. The planet orbits its star every 542 days The planet is of particular interest because scientists believe it may have rings and perhaps even moons, just like Saturn in our own solar system. The Hubble S...

I didn't really intend to describe the eastern gauze fog here, it just happened to come along. The purpose was to test Vespera to see how many stars I can see with an exposure of about three hours from the Swan constellation, as well as how the tracking keeps up. I offer donut coffees to whoever counts the stars from the picture heh...

I hadn't had time to photograph Orion's large gas nebula yet this autumn. Now I had to try almost against the full moon.

I tested Vespera's "panorama" mode, it allows you to explore a much wider sky than Vespera's original field of view. The Vespera benefits from the ability to capture images at a higher resolution than the sensor resolution, up to 8.2 megapixels thanks to the mosaic mode. Normally, an image is 1920 x 1080 pixels, but for example this image of Horse's Head and Flame Fog is 1920 x 4091 pixels I cropped the first picture a bit, changed the tones a bit in the second one, the third picture is the original, from which you can see that the mosaic was not quite finished yet, the tree came t...

Sunspots, first photographed from Earth, from Mercury to Neptune. Vaonis Vespera has a great feature in the sun mode. Vespera shows a live image of how the sun would look in its dimensions if we were to look at it from other planets. This feature will probably come into its own in public screenings.

I tested the functions of the Vespera robot and left the tube programmed to shoot, in the morning I checked the results. Pictured is a running man.

I was taking a landscape star picture when I marveled at the southern sky as if it was on fire, it was literally on fire, a big factory fire on Riihimäki could be seen from a distance of 20 kilometers.

I looked despairingly at the cloudy sky and nevertheless decided to put the telescope outside to cool down, I also adjusted the tripod to the vatupass to wait until midnight. Around 23:30 I went outside and found that the sky had opened up to starry, placed the telescope on the stand and checked the collimation, and performed the focus. I adjust the object's coordinates and other settings on my telescope and when I'm ready at h-moment 23:55 I press the start icon, after about 1.5 minutes of waiting I saw the star TYC 4709-578-1 covering asteroid 105 Artemis on the screen. The joy of su...

Sunshine for the day. The post office brought Vespera's solar filter, and by chance the sun peeked through a gap in the clouds for a couple of minutes. The picture shows a couple of sunspots in the lower right corner. Next week on Tuesday, a partial solar eclipse would also be visible, weather permitting.

In comparison, eVscope and Vespera 90% of the moon. First picture eVscope second Vespera. Evscope's picture is a mosaic, the moon can't fit in one picture otherwise.

Vespera was hard at work while I slept on M45 Seulaset. After the sieves, NGC 2264 was still on the program, but Vespera closed itself when clouds or haze covered the sky.

At this point in the night, sleep started to oppress my eyes, so I programmed Vespera to automatically photograph the next target, Jellyfish Nebula, for the next hour.

I took some pictures of the atmosphere last night. In one photo, I went to stand on the platform myself, while my phone took a picture from the bike's rear. It's just a wonderful feeling to look at the infinite universe, feeling very small. Happiness is living in a dark place. In the hazy pictures, Jupiter shines spectacularly.
