Coming from work and getting out of the light pollution of Seinäjoki, I noticed a northern lights play in the sky that I have not personally seen for a while (I think we can go to the 1990s). And of course there is no sense in it, only a compact camera! In any case, it was necessary to meander down the road to Alajoki to get out of the glow of the street lights and to a quieter place anyway, even to try how to save repos on the P900, but the end result is by no means flattering. However, the ISO value was only 100, because I'm not with you with the camera yet, that I would have gotten a bi...

There was such a halo play that I had to go get a camera even though I had already reached the center of the municipality. Here, first a couple of pictures from the parking lot of the apartment (second picture USM version of the first and fourth Tonal Contrast version of the third picture).

I put a couple more HDR pictures of Ilmajoki's halo play here. In the first image, 7 images (at 11:27->) and in the latter 10 images (at 11:32->) are stacked, and lastly, for comparison, a single frame from the first image series.

I woke up at one time at night to mumble the neighbors, so at the same time I checked the night cloud situation, and after all, they were visible in the low northern sky. They were still quite bright, which may have been partly due to the fact that the rest of the sky was already quite dark.

At sunset, the western sky echoed bright again, so I decided to examine the pearl cloud situation a little more closely to see if anything more could be seen than in the morning play. And you showed up there! In addition to the usual pale pearl clouds, there were a couple of more colorful pearl cloud rafts in the sky, so I quickly dug a shabby car out of my way and walked a couple hundred meters to the edge of the field, which had good views of the western sky. You don't hit such a set every year (and at least not to have time to describe it yourself). Figure 2 is taken with a cell phone, ...

As I write this, there is an absolutely stunning Lenticularis set going on in the skies of Southern Ostrobothnia!

After sunset, quite bright pearl clouds were visible in the western sky. Pearl brown is also included. Once again, there is contentment with cell phone images when there were no seniors on the go (luckily there is a cell phone with a good camera).

At midnight, the downpour was still roaring on the tin roof, but before going to bed I decided to go outside to take a look at what is visible in the sky and you can see it there! The first thought on getting out was, “Oh Holy Father!” For the whole sky was covered with illuminating night clouds that were still bright. I had to meditate a bit with the rating, but in the end I came to the conclusion that these are noteworthy. As I recorded the first moods of the observation (1:15 a.m.), a brief downpour was still over, the associated Cloudiness partially obscuring the illuminating night clouds ...

Moonlight at the Sahanneva Observatory with a fisheye and wide angle. In the first three images, the rays around the Moon are due to the dimmer structure of the fisheye lens (Samyang 8 mm).

The heavy rains of the last couple of days have made Kyrönjoki an almost comparable attraction to "Mississippi". These views are from the center of Ilmajoki, close to Ilkantie Bridge and Ilmajoki Museum.

The second round of thunderstorms to this day, around 7pm, started again with decent rumbles, with lightning flashes perhaps about every 10 seconds, so I gave up counting at an early stage. At this point, the thunder went off. The most intense rumble lasted until about 7:50 p.m., and by 8:15 p.m., even the last rumbles ended. After that, a fairly nice rain for just over an hour. Here are a couple of pictures of this round of clouds, then I had to run away from the rain.

The first wave of the day’s thunder front arrived just right at lunchtime, offering a pretty nice light show, even though it passed the place a little further afield. Whether a few dizzy people dared to climb on the roof of the building next door to admire the thunder, which now may not be the most sensible place in the thunder ... There were no pictures of the lightning, but some kind of flicker from the thunderstorm that passed.

Thunderstorm in the two provinces. Really spectacular thunderstorm, like artillery drum fire (continuous lightning).

We stopped for Huiss to photograph a handsome thunder cloud of two anvils, which was about somewhere in the direction of Pirttikylän-Maalahti. Panorama from 11 images.

About twenty minutes to seven in the evening from Kurika's direction, a large thunderstorm approached over Santavuori. The lightning wasn’t really visible except for a few flashes, but the rumble was almost non-stop. I concluded that most of the lightning occurred either from cloud to cloud inside the clouds (or above) or behind the rain. The thunder cell created a rather spectacular rain wall, the spectacle of which could have given more surface (the spectacle rating I gave applies to the whole play). As the rain wall approached, there was a noise approaching for a long time (like a freig...

Photographed from Kurokka Kirkkoahti, fine thunderclouds in the direction of Kauhajoki, from where the chain of thunderclouds continued in the direction of Ähtäri (screenshot of the radar image).

When I got to the parking lot, I glanced up at the sky and noticed mammoths in several different places. I landed in the open after reaching at least six different mammoth manifestations across the sky. The first two images taken at 8:37 a.m. show the mammoths facing south, the third image (8:38 a.m.) shows the mammoths facing north, and then the fourth image shows the mammoths facing south again. The fifth photo is taken at the foot of Santavuori at 8:53, approximately around Pitkäkujan-Meskaasentie (and these clouds are approximately to the west). The sixth photo was taken on the Kurika side...

On the way to work, I suddenly noticed a regular flicker in my side eye on the left side of the sky. I realized that there was a thunderstorm on the coast of Vaasa. The sparkle continued throughout the commute, somewhere in between I took a little video on my cell phone with one hand, and at least one flash caught it (so at least in the afternoon a picture was promised). Edit: Added a picture of a thundercloud (at 4:34) and a video clip of lightning behind the clouds (at 4:43).

While visiting Kauhajoki, a thunderstorm was developing in the sky, and I had time to describe its development for more than half an hour. According to radar images, in the beginning the cloud flashed somewhere around Jurva. Pictures at 15:10, 15:15, 15:24 and 15:43.

I started to watch the clouds rising in the sky sometime after five, when a "cauliflower" was rolling in the direction of Jurva for the first time, which, however, quickly moved to bad observation stations. Fortunately, however, an impressive-looking anvil was approaching from the direction of Kauhajoki, which I took as my shooting target. Picture series 1-4 are about the approach of a thundercloud, which were taken with the phone's own camera program, either with a normal or wide-angle camera. Photos 5-6 of the lightning produced by the thundercloud were taken with the Lightning Camera ap...
