Exoplanet TrES-2 b

10.10.2018 at 20.15 - 22.00 - Kirkkonummi (II)
Teemu Willamo, Tuomas Salo, Ursa (Helsinki)

An observation from the Metsähovi Observatory of the University of Helsinki about the overflow of the exoplanet TrES-2 b. The orange ticks in the image are single 30 s exposures, and the blue curve averages 5 consecutive exposures. The magnitude is calculated as the average of the two reference stars and normalized so that the average of the first 10 data points is 0. In the CCD image, TrES-2 is the lowest star circled in red. The other two circled stars served as reference stars against which the brightness of the object was compared.

Exoplanet HAT-P-53 b

11.1.2019 at 19.50 - 22.34 - Metsähovi, Kirkkonummi (I)
Teemu Willamo, Juha Tauriainen, Sami Kivistö, Tuomas Salo, Ilja Pippa, Ursa (Helsinki)

We detected an overflow of the exoplanet HAT-P-53 b from the Metsähovi Observatory of the University of Helsinki. In the figure below, the brightness of the star HAT-P-53 (marked in green in the lower figure) is measured compared to the corresponding reference stars (marked in red). The measurements are noisy but the overpass is just perceptible. Apparently the crossing had started earlier than predicted as it would seem that we were late from the start.
