The supposed fireball of the morning looked like this in the north (horizontal view) and northeast (vertical view) cameras on Jyväskylä's Taulumäki. Later, I will add camera views of other, less impressive directions, if you could use them to make estimates about the direction of travel, etc. The phenomenon starts at the very last seconds of 06:20. As an update, added camera views to the southeast (3) and southwest (4). The last one (5) faces south and is 720p, which is seen as a lower image quality compared to the 1080p of the other cameras. The sudden brightness also plays tricks on the ...

Based on the observation made in Kuhmoinen, this recording was found from the camera in the northeast. Happy Father's Day somewhere.

On Pylkönmäki in Saarijärvi, this recording was found with the help of a hand-held observation from the car. During the brightest part of the fireball, a smaller light source follows above its main part. The camera shoots at an angle of approx. 45° both vertically and horizontally through one layer of window glass, so this may just be a reflection from the brightest spot. The companion responsible for the less bright phases of the fireball is not visible on the recording.

A bright ball of fire traveling in the southeast, the ignition of which was behind the building from the point of view of this camera.

This recording was found based on the observations of, among others, Nyrölä and Ulvila. The speed, direction and brightness make this one of the most dramatic that my cameras have captured in Jyväskylä. In addition, the beginning of the fireball's flight is left out of the picture. The second clip is a partial enlargement of the first.

In support of the observation made in Iisalmi, I found this fireball recorded on three different cameras in the southeast sky as seen from Jyväskylä.

The camera time of this fireball matches practically to the second with Vesanto's observation (03:53:48) and a bright flash can also be seen at the very bottom of the frame.

Fireball in the southern sky of Jyväskylä. The direction of the first camera is southeast. The view of the second camera is to the southeast and the third to the southwest.

I'll go back to last week's partial solar eclipse and show you a few pictures of an alternative way to observe the phenomenon. I noticed what I saw in the pictures quite by chance when I was removing all kinds of "shot from the hip" snaps from my cell phone. If there are no tools other than a camera - that is, e.g. no filters - a valid method of verifying the phenomenon would seem to be to observe the change in the reflection inside the lens. That usually round reflection phenomenon in the pictures now appeared as a sickle and the only reason I came up with is that because there was a ...

There were no other reports of sightings of this fireball, so I decided to add these recorded by the two surveillance cameras, even though they are not visible very well through the prevailing fog. The third clip is 720p, so the image quality is lower and less pixel material was captured from the fast flight.

In the middle of the working day, while moving in the Seppälä area of Jyväskylä, I noticed the presence of the halo and was able to stop at a relatively good observation spot. This is my first "own" sighting here at Skywatch, as usually my surveillance cameras have done the work for me regarding the fireballs. ;-)

I will add this regarding the findings in Ulvila and Tampere. The start and end of the fireball's flight remain off-screen.

I offer this to be studied and interpreted in connection with the observations of Konnevesi and Nurmijärvi. After the first sighting, I looked through my recordings several times, but the Nurmijärvi data then located the sight below the moon. Bingo! In the last seconds of 05:35, this ball of light rises from behind the bushes in the yard. I can't say for sure if it's a fireball or something else. The movement seems very slow, but the observation angle affects this issue as well. The direction is approx. southwest. The partial enlargement is from that same wider view.

These were found based on an observation made in Jämsä. I think Jupiter is visible in the lower left corner of the first clip.

The fireball observed at the end flashed through a gap in the clouds in Jyväskylä in a southeast direction. The video from this camera has a resolution of 720p, which can be seen as a slightly jerky movement in these tricky objects.

With the help of Hollola's observation, I found this in the recordings of my north-facing camera. You can't see much of that from behind the birch in the yard, but hopefully it will help when defining the flight path. If it's the same fireball, it went much further north than it looked from Hollola. The flight direction was not marked there, so it will be interesting to hear if it matches in those respects. Camera time around 05:34:30.

The observation made in Orivedi also appeared through a gap in the cloud in Jyväskylä. Here, the beginning is left behind the window frame, and the image area shows a ribbon-like point reflection from the outside light to the blinds. These amateur conditions…

For a change, the sensor of my own surveillance camera had also detected movement in the night sky. It just seems that the event has to be spectacular enough to be registered. In the first clip, there is a bang recorded after the barking of the dogs, which must be assumed to be caused by the explosion of the fireball. A really spectacular display of the southern sky!
