I photographed the exploding comet the other night to see the change. Maybe the coma has spread a little.

I continued Arto and Jorma's series of observations with a negative observation of a repeating Nova in our neighboring galaxy.

This is probably the fourth time I have photographed the eruption of this comet. These eruptions occur relatively regularly, even every couple of months. This eruption caused the brightness of the comet to increase by a factor of ten. It will be interesting to follow the evolution of this comet.

I last photographed this comet at the beginning of November. Since then, the comet has brightened a bit and the tail has grown. It was a bit strange when in the picture stacked according to the comet's head, the stars make a clear curve. I believe and hope that it is not a case of the polar orientation going wrong.

This project started already in September, but due to technical problems and the weather, the project came to some kind of conclusion only now. The main object itself, the supernova remnant, still remained very thin, so the project must be continued next year as well. But the Ha-data looked so interesting, even aesthetic, that I dare to display the image 'raw' as well. The second image is the starless version and the third is just the Ha data colored.

I was spending a cabin weekend at Kuhmajärvi when unexpectedly, after a long gray period, beautiful clear weather came. Even at night it was clear, although quite windy, so I decided to photograph something with my travel equipment. I noticed that I hadn't taken a so-called 'decent' picture of the North American haze in the 20 years I've been a photography star enthusiast. As an anecdote , a picture of the North American fog taken with a film camera 20 years ago.

At the moment a comet visible (even in Spain) low after sunset, so the conditions were not the best. It rises quickly higher in the sky, so after the turn of the year, when it is at its brightest, it is also very noticeable in Finland. At the beginning of February, it should be visible to the naked eye.

I recently read a news report that the closest black hole to the solar system had been discovered. According to the story, the black one was only 1560 light years away. The story captivated my imagination so much that I decided to find out if the object could be photographed with hobbyist equipment. Of course, I understood that the black hole itself could not be observed, but the nearby star of the black hole nonetheless. Because living in Finland during the cloudiest time of the year, I had to once again resort to the remote tube in Spain. Even there, the target was quite low - only about 25 ...

This comet should brighten to the better side of mag 10 after the turn of the year. The bright star on the far right is the Ursa Major Dubhe.

The weather was a little better, so I shot a longer series without the IR Pro filter. Maybe a hint of the blue clouds around the pole that have been observed around the world.

I packed my travel equipment into the car and headed for Kangasa to the landscapes of Lapinsaari. Originally, the idea was to photograph Seulas, but the arborist changed the plans to Joutsen's gauze fog. This was the first experiment with this equipment and software (Az Gti stand and NINA), so compared to that, the experiment was moderately successful. The exposure could be longer.

The weather was quite choppy, so there was no hope of getting a better result than this. However, the size of Mars continues to increase - now 14.9".

I spent four nights photographing this iconic object in the starry sky. In light-polluted city conditions, this is a bit challenging because no filters really help. But with current cameras and programs, you can get a really nice looking result.

This famous asteroid that participated in the collision experiment finally rose far enough north that I could attempt to photograph it. The amateurs had also photographed the tail caused by the collision, so I hoped that I would succeed in that as well. Well, in the raw pictures, you couldn't see anything at all, but in the stacked picture, a thin tail is visible. Actually, the asteroid orbiting Didymo, officially named S/2003 (65803) 1, is the source of the tail, but let the observation go by the name of the main asteroid.

I stayed awake until the early hours of the night when at least the weather in the early part of the night looked promising (cf. Jupiter ). No Mars did not produce very great experiences, but it is only 13 arcseconds.

It was such a good observation environment that I filmed for 2 hours so that I took 2-minute videos every 10 minutes. I even managed to make a video of them.

The new sunspots (AR3105-3107) came into view and today is the autumnal equinox. During the autumnal equinox, the aurora borealis tends to be more easily visible without any mentionable eruptions. Let's hope for clear nights.

I photographed the sun again today, this time the other half than yesterday, because it looked like a flare was going on at the surface. Well, no miraculous activity was seen in the baby boy, so I can only see one static picture.
