The Perseid shooting was interrupted by an absolutely incredible spectacle, when the rocket crossed the entire field of view very bright. The most beautiful thing I have seen so far by a human being in the sky. The first picture shows a video compiled from my pictures by Matias Takala, and the second picture shows my preliminary gif animation. In the triple image, Perseid slips by the rocket cloud. The ring that has developed around the rocket cloud stands out in the last three images, of which the last image is cropped to the target. EDIT: Added video to number one. Many thanks to Matias Taka...

The Perseids were visible to some extent and finally the rocket launch and its impressively spectacular passage through the sky stole the whole show. The first and second pictures are of the same Perseid, which left an afterglow in the sky for a while. The triple image has a severely cropped gif animation of it. In the quadrilateral, Perseid appears next to the rocket cloud.

Photographing the fog arc in the moonlight is quite a challenging task. You should find a place where the Moon shines brightly and on the opposite side there is fog high enough to form a whole arc. In a couple of places I somehow got it to appear. The fog was so thick in some places that the Moon completely disappeared behind it, so it was quite a job to find a place. In the blink of an eye, I deleted the previous night cloud photos from the card and the northern lights also appeared to spoil my efforts at times.

The northern lights appeared in the foggy sky when I was looking for and trying to photograph the fog arc on the Moon. Reposet then subsided and some kind of fog arc was found later. Finally, a small gif animation of 65 pictures from the episode 00:50 - 00:55.

A small area of illuminating night clouds very low in the north. At first it seemed that the situation would improve, but eventually it faded in half an hour and normal clouds covered the rest. It's starting to be this night cloud season in these latitudes little by little.

At this point in August, the illuminating night clouds remain low and in a small part of the sky in the Turku region, but in terms of their beauty, these were the best of the season for me. It's great that it's still summer vacation and anyway I'm most cheerful at night. The night clouds of the early night were very quiet compared to these. These night clouds came as if reborn into the morning night sky. EDIT: A couple of gif animations at the end. In the faster version (targeted images), you can see more clearly how the border between light and shadow changes at this time of year ...

The moon roared over the steaming Paimionjoki. I think Hirvet also watched it earlier in the evening in Paraini, when the cameraman didn't seem interested at all.

It was another memorable night with observations. I was hoping for good night clouds after a short break and I was also waiting for the northern lights. Both then came after I first looked at the rather empty sky for a long time. The aurora borealis really went wild, and with such an impressive display, it's rare to start your own northern aurora season.

The northern lights seemed to steal the night cloud observations, but it was a great and versatile observation night. After midnight, the night clouds began to rise slowly from the northeast. The Northern Lights came along a little after that.

After the almond clouds, a weak ring of 22° was visible for a while, and after that the sky was blocked quite quickly.

Almond clouds, rarely seen in the Turku region, had spread over a wide area today, and some were quite impressive. Now let's put a decent set of pictures, although not all of them necessarily have the required 4 layers. However, several had much more. Thanks to Lasse Nurmin and Matti Helin for the noise. After a long night awake, I was still under the covers, but already awake :)

Yes, it must be admitted now that the bright summer nights are over when the Andromeda galaxy is already visible on the camera's basic equipment. Otherwise, the stars are starting to appear nicely in the sky.

The night clouds started rising from the north only after midnight to a height of a few funny degrees and finally disappeared before two.

While driving from Helsinki to Turku, before Salo, bright night clouds began to appear near the horizon. 20 km before Salo, the night clouds were very visible, so I took a side road at Kruusila and took a few pictures. Towards the end of the journey, normal clouds started to cover the views, so I didn't succeed in my goal of photographing these in Salo's cultural landscapes.

On the way home from Kouvola to Turku, I could see a rather bright patch of a rainbow, so I had to capture that too.
