A rather windy day made me wonder if the description will be equal to anything. I took the risk, and luckily it was worth all the effort then. Our near-star with three different wavelengths, dubbed the "trifecta" among sun enthusiasts. Full disk image of the sun at the wavelength of calcium II K-light, visible light (solar continuum) and hydrogen alpha. Each of these opens up its own views on the awakening of the activity of the sun from the quiet life of the dormant years towards a tumultuous maximum.

Today I just had to get to know the new equipment because of the clouds, but it was a descriptive day today! Calcium K light (393.4 nm) showed a truly massive discharge, estimated to be more than 200,000 kilometers long. Unfortunately, this was already over when I had time to get the hydrogen alpha equipment attached to the telescope.

Is there anything to be said here in Turku other than that it seems that the pace is only accelerating when it comes to solar activity. Not at all as slow as last year! Today, the clouds took the best moments to capture, but yes, there always feels like something is catching on the camera. Now there were such great eruptions that I had to try my luck. Fortunately, these seem to be more and more common, so there is still enough to admire for the whole summer.

The sun now shows so much and fine filaments along the surface that I decided to take a risk and try shooting even though the clouds were a dilemma throughout the day. The weather was not the best, but the sun looked beautiful. Filaments are available in many lengths, shapes and thicknesses.

Returning from the paseeru with the cat, my attention was drawn to the rather cloudless sky. The blacksmith was then left with a brief pleasure after the telescope and its pedestals had been pushed out. I was left waiting for a small gap in the cloud cover to test a new solar telescope mod. This is a standard detached from the Daystar SolarScout 60DS telescope that attaches to the other telescope with a 3D-printed adapter and a 2 "extension. The extension is preceded by an Optolong IR UV blocking filter. The sun was found and focused! Newton had more than enough tires, flat and a partially til...

As the forecast turned perhaps once again towards cool and cloudy days, one had to take pleasure in still capturing the sun today. And it was just a good moment, a big eruption was right on the edge.

Clear with gusts of wind. I tried filming in the backyard. The wind waved the pedestal for this from here, but something came to scratch.

Have a sunny weekend! On the surface of the sun now praises the handsome cluster of sunspots, which have been admired in peace for a couple of days.

So it’s spring when you can listen to the birds singing again and shoot the sun in your backyard! Of course, it is good for the birds to be on the branches of the trees in the yard, but in the shallow sun the shade is still often shaded by birch and willow. Its own lyst is to try to identify the tree species by circling through a hydrogen alpine tube, dark silhouettes are visible as long as there is an inaccurate sun in the background. A literally beautiful view falls on the surface of our near star as the maximum approaches day by day. After a long winter, it’s downright refreshing to see for...

From the idle, we are tinkering with the solar telescope again today. Fine filaments along the surface, tiny prominencies at the edges.

Saturday sun photos. Nothing particularly spectacular in white light. On the hydrogen side, one finer eruption on the edge. The processing of calcium K light images was still pending, but watching the live screen is the treat of this narrowband shooting! Unlike white light and hydrogen alpha, whose live screen can of course be adjusted better, at least for Firecapture, with Lunt’s calcium module, the image is already really sharp and detailed without any commercial hints. Sometimes I have to put a video or pictures just for preview views.

The second time toden says! In the morning I gathered in the garden of the stock, only to see the vicious-looking clouds covering the whole sky. After all, no water dripped on the neck. In the afternoon, the clouds were still a nuisance, so I only brought out the hydrogen alpha stock and, waiting for a suitable gap, watered the French herbs to rhythmize. Would clouds go to the wire? And yes they did! I got to grab a few videos before the sun disappeared behind a tall pine tree. I also invited my neighbor to admire the visually well-seen protuberances. There were really plenty of them. Negative...

A quick peek into the garden suggested that you could now try your luck with the new hardware. Lunt's CaK 12 mm filter arrived recently, so it burned a bit to get to try the headlights. With this device, viewing is not possible for the most part, but the details of the chromosphere were seen really nicely from a slightly different tip than the hydrogen alpha on the computer screen. Seeing was poor. As a fun surprise, the dim dudes found in the post-processing. They do not appear in this version. Sunspots coming up again! The sun depicted in the light of the K-line of calcium is a mosaic of...

At noon in the summer heat, the sun at times looked like a crackling frying pan. The photographer started to have similar moods after many hours of the session. A little heating was worthwhile, as the sun pampered the viewer and the photographer today with such a number and form of hydrogen alpha protuberances, active areas, sunspots, spiculas ... In the close-up of the hydrogen alfa, a protuberance in the shape of a directional sign and a smaller spicula forest appear nicely. In white light, a large sunspot can still delight. Soon it is then going to the other side. The faculaet now appears n...

The beautiful summer day provided an excellent weather for the fingers to rotate, the clouds took a longer steep from the actual description of the sun. I managed to take a few squares before the sun disappeared behind the trees. An insanely stunning sunspot with a composition of white light!

The last day of the summer holiday was spent in the best weather, photographing the sun with the whole fleet. The cat was also allowed to enjoy the outdoors on its own. There are new sunspots in the sun again, what can be seen is a really beautiful half-shadow light bridge. On the hydrogen side, the fine wire collection of the area can be seen. A literally poetically beautiful view today on the surface of our near star. By five o'clock seeing became even more horrible. Full sun and close-up: Lunt60THa ST, ASI178MM / Televue Barlow 2.5x. Sunspot: TS102ED f / 11, Lacerta Herschel Wedge, ND f...

A small tear in the cloud cover disappeared as quickly as it appeared, so I decided with a little luck to try just describing the edges of the edge. One could only dream of the details of the surface as a thin and slightly thicker cloud cover flew in front of the sun's disk. After all, the edging of the edge got some kind of picture by drastically overexposing. I was left to admire visually after filming the rich spectrum of eruptions on different sides of the sun’s perimeter. The weather protection of the telescope, pulled over the head, was even more admirable.

It was not possible to enjoy the handsome thunderstorm in Turku, but the sun decided to mock the clouds in the afternoon. After a while, I decided to try my luck and swung out the shooting equipment. The iOptron AZ Pro tripod is comfortable in that it is ready to shoot in about 5-10 minutes. I store the Lunt60 telescope in a storage box as recommended, but it doesn’t take much time to put that on. For clouds, threshing a fist can help or a simple fight against fatigue is sometimes rewarded. I have learned to appreciate visual observations on partly cloudy days. Filming may not become anything,...

Despite the heat, the sun was surprisingly sharp even at noon. Sitting in the heat takes its toll, so you should probably get a parasol for several hours of shooting. On the surface of the sun, several filaments that came out nicely even darker with the Lunt60 double jacket. I finally got some kind of understanding with this add-on! A nice swirl around the sunspot. On the edges several racquet prominence, one of which made a great loop.

Like tears in the rain, the images from the day’s previous session disappeared as the imaging laptop watered its last. The clouds receded again in the afternoon, so I decided to take a break from scattering the ashes on myself. With another laptop, shooting in sunlight is not easy due to the dimness of the screen. Not even with a cardboard box, etc. The light wind was worse during the day, now more moderate in the afternoon. In the sun, handsome celebrities were visible during the day, which could be admired even in the afternoon. Filaments, one great sunspot and whatever!
