There were some great northern lights on several nights in mid-April. Attached is the beginning of the northern lights eruption from the night of 16.-17.4. 00: 31-00: 37. Pictures are taken every minute in the direction of zenith. There were strong pulsating northern lights before the eruption, but especially after the eruption until the morning began to lighten. A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

17.3.2021 at 00.35 - Oulu (III)
Kari Kaila, Oulun Arktos

Two bright fireballs went north in the morning. Both were quite slow. They appeared for about 6 seconds. On the same night, there are other observations of a slow fireball in the Sky Watch. Could they have been coming from the same direction? The brightnesses of both were of the same order, estimated at -6 magnitudes. The earlier lit at 00:35:00 and the later at 01:55:00

Satellite

17.8.2020 at 00.51 - Sammatti (II)
Kari Kaila, Oulun Arktos

The really distant satellite left a rather short image of the old Lyrian ring fog The exposure time of the image is 20 seconds and during that time the satellite moved ONLY about 336 ". The movement was thus about 17" per second. The satellite is also shown in the other two images. Picture taken at 00:51:25 Finnish time. The picture was taken with a 20 cm Newton tube with a focal length of 160 cm. I can't identify the subject even with Calsky.

Clearly visible night shining clouds

18.7.2020 at 01.00 - 02.30 - Sammatti (III)
Kari Kaila, Oulun Arktos

There were already quite bright night clouds knowing how many nights this summer. It was nice to watch them sitting on the cliff. At times, a bat was flying almost on the surface of the lake very close. Yes Finland's light summer nights are beautiful! Another image is of the beach forest, another of night cloud details.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

7.2.2020 at 20.41 - Oulu (III)
Kari Kaila, Oulun Arktos

The car, which had been visible for several seconds, grabbed the camera images. Individual exposure times were 1.00 sec. Just before the car ignites, a small dot flashes near the car's ignition point. It is probably the satellite DMSP BC5-03 (07411), which is 1277 kilometers away. At least the location fits that destination.
