Several halo forms

5.3.2017 at 09.55 - Laukaa (II)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

A local ice cloud caused a halo phenomenon in an area a couple of kilometers away. The phenomenon was visible for a couple of hours. At least the side suns, the 22-degree circle, and the arc of the zenith environment were visible.

Caldwell 14

15.3.2016 at 21.00 - 22.00 - Laukaa (IV)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

Finally the equipment starts working, the whole winter has been battled with new equipment and cloudy weather. The moon was starting to be halfway through so I didn’t start trying dimmer targets but took Caldwell as a 14-star star.

M65, M66, NGC 3623

13.3.2015 at 23.00 - Laukaa (II)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

Handsome spring, completely calm and cloudless. I took the tube to the field to photograph the Lion’s galaxy trio, the exposure accumulated for a total of an hour and a half in 4-minute lengths.

NGC 281

6.2.2015 at 20.00 - Laukaa (III)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

The first bright evening in a long time. I stabbed the tricks to describe the Pacman fog. Eventually the clouds came to the fore. But good mood remained here too :)

Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

This has already been photographed in December, but only yesterday I got the picture ready.

Comet with naked eye coma Lovejoy

20.1.2015 at 18.40 - Laukaa (IV)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

A comet depicted in 22-degree frost. The equipment crept pretty much, but I still got something to grab the cell. The tail is also visible well. Seeing was not at his best, the comet showed little to the naked eye.

Copernicus

31.12.2014 at 19.30 - Laukaa (IV)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

While waiting for the New Year to turn, I photographed the moon through the gauze.

Caldwell 14

28.12.2014 at 20.47 - Laukaa (III)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Jyväskylän Sirius

I photographed 2 and 4 minute exposures with crescent interference. I took such an easy subject to photograph, the dim nebulae would hardly have succeeded in the moonlight.

Several bright halo forms

24.6.2014 at 10.20 - Äänekoski (III)
Pekka Kumpukallio

Awesome halo phenomenon, I don’t even recognize all halo forms. Taken several pictures on a mobile phone and connected with ICE

NGC 2237

28.3.2014 at 23.00 - Laukaa (II)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The last dark nights of spring, I first tried Rosette fog.

M33

29.1.2014 at 20.00 - Laukaa (III)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Last night I stabbed the camera to photograph the triangle galaxy M33 for a couple of hours. There were so few gusts of wind that about a third of the exposures went to the trash.

IC 434, Barnard 33

28.1.2014 at 21.00 - Laukaa (IV)
Pekka Kumpukallio, Ursa (Helsinki)

There was fifteen degrees of frost and a light gust of wind. I took 20 2-minute exposures and 20 4-minute exposures. Due to the vibration caused by the wind, a dozen images had to be removed before stacking. Horsehead Nebula is a fun object to photograph, I tried this for the first time. Sometimes you need to get better acquainted with the adjacent Flame Nebula.

23.1.2014 at 20.00 - Laukaa (III)
