A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

30.9.2014 at 21.36 - Ikaalinen (III)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I was photographing the Milky Way, etc., exposed the image towards the north sky and noticed a fireball flying low, It came from east to west. Happened to hit the picture. The image is cropped and the streak of fireball appears behind the tree on the left is pretty low. It was lucky that I got the picture.

As I photographed the Northern Lights, I noticed a bright fireball on my left. At the same time, a passenger train went in the direction of Tampere. It happened to be left in the old picture of a fireball.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

25.3.2015 at 21.46 - Ikaalinen (III)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I was filming the northern lights and suddenly a fireball flew in the northern sky, the direction was apparently northwest. It burned green, like that big fireball (March 18, 2015). However, it was not quite as bright. The time on the camera was 21.46. The phone time again showed 21.45. This happened to hit the picture.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

10.12.2016 at 23.32 - Ikaalinen, Sisättö (III)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I was photographing the Moon at night and I was surprised to see a fireball fly from west to east low above the tree tops. It flew relatively slowly and burned orange with pain. I quickly turned the camera in the direction of the target, but I was too slow, or the fireball disappeared too quickly from view. However, it doesn’t stand out from the picture I took just a moment ago. Attached to the picture I was trying to catch a fireball is a little taken. Another picture is that moment before. I don't think they can help, but omma now.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

31.3.2017 at 23.19 - Ikaalinen, Sisättö (III)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I described the Moon (the halo of the Moon) and the beginning of the Northern Lights and the Milky Way in the same picture and in that same a fireball flew in the northern sky. There was enough exposure in the luck that the streak left by the fireball came into the picture.

A fireball at night, brighter than a full moon

24.4.2019 at 00.21 - Ikaalinen, Sisättö (V)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

A bright fireball flew pretty slowly high in the sky towards the northwest. It burned orange and the old one was pretty wide. A downright beautiful moment that I got to admire. Luckily, I had turned the camera in just that direction and the camera had just taken a picture where the fireball was recorded. The second image is cropped from the first image.

A fireball at night, as bright as a cresent moon

17.4.2021 at 00.18 - Ikaalinen, Sisättö (IV)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

The photo had been caught by a bright fireball in connection with the shooting of the northern lights. It’s a little hard now to tell anything about it when I left the camera to take a picture of the time I actually was having coffee. However, luckily I was left in the picture. 6 second exposure. I checked the camera clock and it was 5 minutes behind. The correct time for fireball is 00.23.

Active aurora band

16.3.2012 at 22.37 - Ikaalinen, Sisöttö (III)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

In the evening after nine, a very dim belt of northern lights began to appear, which brightened into active pulsating northern lights in the northern sky. Mist began to form on the ground, and the lens of this was damp from this, which hampered the description. There were no red poles at the Nurmijärvi measuring point, but still the northern lights were visible.

Quiet aurora arc

19.9.2012 at 23.00 - 00.30 - Ikaalinen,Sisättö (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I noticed the sky clearing at 11pm on the ground and at the same time the northern lights and rays began to appear. I had to start from that to describe it. A calm arc of northern lights was visible for 1.5 hours, Dark clouds obstructed the view. The first image has a northern lights belt and the other shows its right end and there a reddish color. The sky was crossed by an arc in the direction of the Milky Way, which appeared a few times as a light ribbon- apparently that red color came from that arc? Or is it this way of delusions?

Aurora rays

1.3.2013 at 20.13 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I noticed the first northern lights around 20.13. The rays rose high. The second time they appeared around 9pm and were more spectacular than before. After that, they faded, and I wasn’t left in the tightening frost to wait for more repos.

Aurora rays

30.8.2013 at 23.53 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

My first northern lights of autumn have been recorded. At 11 p.m., Maisa began to stand out rays, which then brightened and rose to heights. In 24 countries they faded and some gauze remained. By 01 the situation had not improved, so I gave up.

Quiet aurora band

11.11.2013 at 02.30 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I woke up at night at 02.20 and wondered when it was bright outside, I looked out the window and there was a starry sky and an arc of northern lights. Luckily I had the opportunity to go in the middle of everything to shoot, at first I just shot from the yard, but when the repos seemed to last, then I went to the pond, on the way I thought it was this crazy thing. However, I was able to photograph a good time until the four countries returned to sleep and the repos continued to dance. pictures 03.05- 03.25, little is provided.

Aurora rays

26.4.2014 at 00.43 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

This day started with northern lights, the rays also stood out visually. Nice when I still saw repos in the spring. I waited until 02 for more action to come, but then they didn’t manage to brighten up. You have to rejoice in these few rays, after all.

Quiet aurora band

19.9.2014 at 23.57 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I photographed the Milky Way and waited for the northern lights, I was already detaching the camera from the tripod, when the northern lights began to appear, the camera hurried back to the tripod and shooting - at this point the lens was already so wet that I had to replace it - it was wasted. At the same time as the northern lights came on, the fox began to roar nearby — fortunately I sat down so that my fears did not disappoint my feet. The repo there just wiped pains in the sky with his tail. Could have been wiped harder- these repos eventually became quite dim.

Quiet aurora arc

30.9.2014 at 22.01 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

A calm arc of northern lights appeared in the sky. Rays also stood out from it. But there was no spectacular show this time either. Repos has seen gauze and arches on several evenings, but there has been little to tell about them. Is the Sun now going into an active season?

Half-sky auroras

24.12.2014 at 22.17 - Ikaalinen (IV)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

I got a great Christmas present that covered half the sky. The clouds then evaporated, and the northern lights finally appeared — this has been expected, but Christmas Eve was a wonderful time. The gauze was visible well in advance of the clouds disappearing. after 10 p.m. However, no corona was formed. The soundscape of the night was calm- what now the frost stocking was banging with its cane here and there and in the neighbor's kennel the dogs were howling UUUUU! The wind blew sadly cold and the following wave was interrupted by the flutter of the toes. Admittedly, the second round did n...

Half-sky auroras

26.12.2014 at 21.36 - Ikaalinen (IV)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

On Midsummer's Day evening, the northern lights began to appear before 9 pm. From both ends of the higher arc, high rays began to move toward the center. And that's where the show then started. The active northern lights showed red bottoms and tops, yellow, green. The crown was formed at least once, but not very bright. High rays and curtains slid along the sky. Great to watch!

Quiet aurora band

13.3.2015 at 22.52 - Ikaalinen (II)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

The dim northern lights, initially visible to the naked eye, were nothing but light gauze, but suddenly green rays began to stand out, moving calmly. Nothing shocking was seen. Although red stands out in the images. The last picture was taken on March 14 at 0.23.
