Kangastus

6.9.2015 at 13.36 - Vöyri, Oravaistenlahti (III)
Marko Myllyniemi, Lakeuden Ursa

The Vöyri from the resting area of Oravaistenlahti in the direction of the open sea showed some canvas, but due to a cloudy and rainy day it was not quite as spectacular as when driving past in the sunshine the day before (although it was not possible to stop to shoot at that time).

Moon

6.1.2020 at 15.10 - Vaasa, Vanha Vaasa, Rauniopuisto (V)
Marko Myllyniemi, Lakeuden Ursa

The Rising Moon photographed in Old Vaasa in the ruins of St. Mary's Church. The location of the moon was not quite what I would have liked, but good anyway. Then a small explosion of history: St. Mary's Church was a medieval stone church built between 1480 and 1550. After the founding of the city of Vaasa (in 1606), the church was expanded in 1649 (Finland's oldest still operating company, Fiskars, was founded in the same year). Kehä

16.6.2018 at 13.00 - Vaasa, Söderfjärden (IV)

I saw the second circle of the day in Vaasa, Söderfjärden, at the Meteoriihi Observatory's 10th anniversary celebrations.

Kehä

16.6.2018 at 14.02 - Vaasa, Söderfjärden (V)
Marko Myllyniemi, Lakeuden Ursa

The old saying “no two without a third” seems to be true today, as the third color circle of the day sailed (or rather the clouds that caused it sailed) around the Sun just over an hour later than the previous one. This too in Söderfjärden at the Meteori Observatory.

We set off for an Easter drive and ended up in Söderfjärden, where I grabbed a few pictures of the shadow of the Earth. Photos at 21:16 and 21:21 (RAW), last photo at 21:26 with Samyang's fisheye (and as a JPG from the camera).

Sun

28.3.2016 at 12.33 - Vaasa, Söderfjärden (IV)
Marko Myllyniemi, Lakeuden Ursa

The Sun of the Day photographed in Vaasa with the Söderfjärden meteorite crater. There were a large number of other sun worshipers (Cygnus Cygnus), as shown in the third picture ... ;-) The air was quite warm, about +9 ° C, and quite windy. The wind was a bit more detrimental to shooting (the camera is pretty light) than the thermal jitter.
