Rauhallinen revontulikaari

7.2.2020 at 01.15 - Kiiminki (II)
Jesse Kyytinen, Ursa (Pohjois-Suomi)

Ihan mukavat loimut vaikka ilmeisesti paras osuus oli jo aikaisemmin. Käsivarakuvat kännykällä.

Koko taivaan revontulet

6.2.2020 at 22.00 - 23.00 - Rovaniemi (V)
Tommi Lyytikäinen

Helmikuun alulta havaintoa. Oli todella kirkkaat tulet, elävää tanssia pitkin taivasta. Värit vaihteli virheästä violettiin. Alkoi noin klo 22 ja loppui sitten noin klo 23. Turistiauto ajoi paikalle just ennenku nopein ja näyttävin vaihe alkoi. Olivat kyllä hyvin otettuja haukkoivat henkeä. Olihan se sykähdyttävä hetki! :)

Aktiivinen revontulivyö

6.2.2020 at 21.50 - 22.40 - Kuopio (III)
Minna Glad, Kuopion Saturnus

Revontuliharso

6.2.2020 at 22.00 - 22.15 - Nurmijärvi (I)
Emma Bruus, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

Quiet aurora arc

6.2.2020 at 22.30 - 23.30 - Pyhtää (II)
Jyrki Turunen

After all, for a long time there was some northern lights activity here in the south as well.

Active aurora band

6.2.2020 at 22.10 - 22.30 - Savukoski (III)
Anu Tossavainen

Letting the dog out spun back inside to gaze at the camera. The shower was fresh enough to shoot in the middle of the artificial lights, i.e. two steps from the stairs and a shot. The most spectacular performance of winter, so fast and pink northern lights I have never seen. Some passed by as the camera admired. The moon created its own mood in the pictures and even a few starbursts became spotted.

Aurora rays

6.2.2020 at 21.45 - 22.45 - Pöytyä (II)
Timo Oksanen

For a long time in the south, too, a decent show, although the active phase lasted less than 10 min. Before that, however, three arches were visible, the top of which was really dim. Longer timelapse video: https://youtu.be/iaRNjq5lH2k

Half-sky auroras

6.2.2020 at 22.26 - 23.54 - Inari (IV)
Seija Hakala

If the previous Northern Lights fire was disappointing, now it was compensated. We decided to shave on the ice of Lake Inari because better fires were promised. He had decided to come there with a group of others, the mess of tongues was quite a lot. For a long time the sky was completely empty. Or some weak ray came from the north. The foreigners were already disappointed. Then it started to rise directly from the east, every moment the half-sky was marked by the most special patterns, also perpendicularly above it. Woe to that cry of delight and scream that echoed on the ice of the lake. Eve...

Rauhallinen revontulivyö

6.2.2020 at 22.30 - 22.35 - Valkeakoski (II)
Anja Haavisto, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Olin ehtinyt juuri kuvauspaikalle, kun tulikin kiire laittaa kalusto valmiiksi.

Active aurora band

6.2.2020 at 22.35 - Kurikka (III)
Timo Nevala, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

At first a calm arch was visible. It then disintegrated into bright strands, which took a few minutes. After that, nothing was visible. There was ice mist in the air from the snow cannons of the nearby biathlon stadium, and the village lamps made faint pillars of light on it, but their brightness was completely overshadowed by the northern lights. In the more rigorous image, one pillar somehow stands out.

Half-sky auroras

6.2.2020 at 23.00 - 00.00 - Paltamo (IV)
Katja Niskanen

I left for traffic too late, when I didn't like it at first, but the northern lights appeared as soon as I left for Pivesamo to watch Lake Kivesjärvi, unfortunately an hour later the clouds became so short my shooting trip was short.

Active aurora band

6.2.2020 at 22.00 - 22.40 - Vaasa, Vähäkyrö (III)
Satu Rajamäki

Throughout the evening's wait, finally the values looked promising, as did the sky (cloudless). At first, the northern lights gauze was visible. Shortly afterwards, the repos began to run (unfortunately) the cloud streaks began to fly at the same rate from the northern sky, but fortunately did not quite cover the entire sky. The evening's show culminated in rapid, spectacular northern lights, which then ended "like a wall." The crown popped on, but the moonlight prevented him from seeing best. The lens was already so icy after a few hours outside that there was no need to turn the came...

Active aurora band

6.2.2020 at 21.29 - 00.42 - Ikaalinen, Sisättö (III)
Heidi Rikala, Ursa (Helsinki)

The handsome northern lights of the moonlit night blazed in Ikaalinen's sky. The most active phase took a very short time. At the beginning of the arc of northern lights, an arc separated to the top of the sky, which went uniformly from northwest to east. These repos were really special colored greens. Bright and also had red bottoms. The colors were visible visually. I waited until almost one more time for activation, but then gave up when nothing was visible.

Rauhallinen revontulikaari

6.2.2020 at 22.08 - 22.41 - Helsinki (II)
Georg Kieninger

Aurora rays

6.2.2020 at 21.55 - 22.45 - Raisio (II)
Markku Sirén, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

For a long time clear skies and curves promising. When Bz was in the red, I started packing my camels and headed for the Hauninen pool. I assessed the need for clothes on the bottom edge and got to do spring movements to stay warm. Shortly before ten, a dim arc began to appear. The arch brightened and but at the same time I began to coldly sink into the bones and cores. I was already handing over after half past eleven and packing the camera in my bag. Luckily, I glanced at the sky again as the show began. There was a rush to reassemble the camera on a tripod. The great show lasted ten minutes...

Yli puoli taivasta revontulia

6.2.2020 at 23.24 - 23.30 - Pelkosenniemi (IV)
Perttu Vornanen

Pitkin yötä näkyi hienoja revontulia Pyhällä. Jaksot olivat melko lyhyitä, ja tästä ehdin nappaamaan kuvan järven jäältä.

Active aurora band

6.2.2020 at 21.50 - 23.00 - Kuhmo, Niemiskylä (III)

Finally! There's a high arch! Suddenly put on a nightgown, -9 and a strong wind. There were quick repos. I didn’t even take a tripod when I replaced the camera battery when they were so low that I had to change the shooting location often because of the trees, so it would have taken a long time to set up the tripod for the project. As I ran, I tried to make it to the incredible yellow and red eruptions so that the trees were not in the way, but I didn’t have time to get to the camera. To the right of that eruption came a wonderful stunning area for a while, I don’t remember when I would ha...

Aktiivinen revontulivyö

6.2.2020 at 22.32 - 22.38 - Helsinki (III)
Esko Lyytinen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

Havainto on infrapunavalolla havaitsevasta tulipallokamerasta. Watec kamerassa on suodin joka päästää läpi suunnilleen näkyvän rajoilta pitempään allonpituuten. Ei toki anna näyttäviä värikuvia, mutta on oikeastaan hyvä havaitsemaan melko kaukana matalalla korkeuskulmalla olevia revontuliakin, koska taivas on tumma valosaasteesskin ja kuutamossa ja ilmakehään imeytyminen (ekstinktio) on vähäistä matalallakin korkeuskulmalla. Näkyi huomattavan aktiivisena vain kolmessa 2 minuutin peakhold kuvassa ja kerrottu ajoituskin on tästä viheesta. Ennen sitä näkyi rauhallinen revontulivyö pitempäänkin. T...

Active aurora band

6.2.2020 at 21.55 - 22.55 - Kangasala (III)
Markku Lintinen, Tampereen Ursa

The short northern lights show of the evening rose so high that Kangas also showed this much over the treetops. Great show considering the bright moonlight.
